Ukee Days launched today under clear skies and a great turn out for the Salmon Dinner, Longboard competition and Whiskey Dock Relay!

South Beach at Wickanninish

South Beach is such a small and dramatic beach with contrasting rock bluffs, deep sand, loads of shells, surge channels and crashing surf.

The 20 minute hike from Wickanninish keeps most people away and delivers a very private setting.

My children love exploring the ocean in Ucluelet. Sunday morning we checked our crab trap and discovered nine Red Rock crabs. Removing the crabs from the trap and identifying the gender was fun.

Feds Support Ucluelet Aquarium

The Government of Canada announced support for the Ucluelet Aquarium Society to build a permanent aquarium in the community. The event also served as an opportunity to officially break ground on the project.
